When it comes to holiday heavyweights, London is a city that springs to mind. Perhaps not so much for us Brits, as generally when we go on holiday we look to go abroad when possible, or to somewhere to wind down like the Lake District, Scotland or Cornwall (to name just a few!). Internationally, however, London is a top holiday destination thanks to the wide range of tourist attractions on offer in the city.
Some of the favourites include the classical sights of London such as Big Ben, St Pauls Cathedral, London Bridge and Buckingham Palace - the home of the Queen (see image below). Walk past these London landmarks and you'll be sure to see plenty of tourists gaping in awe at these spectacular historically rich buildings.
Aside from the camera hotspots, London has so much to offer. There are many great restaurants in the city, although we would recommend doing some research if possible before eating especially if you are eating out in the West End, which has plenty of fairly average restaurants with hefty price tags. There are many London resources on the web with reviews of good places to go for food. The West End is the most popular destination for tourists once the sun sets, with many bars, clubs and theatres. In fact the London Theatre scene in the West End (see below) is possibly the best in the World thanks to countless top class productions like Grease, Cats, Les Miserables, Oliver, Dirty Dancing, Phantom of the Opera....the list goes on and on.
